The Taronga Zoo is located in Sydney but famous all over the world for its variety of activities. The price of a ticket can be quite steep, however, you can buy them online for a 10% discount. If a group of 8 teens were to buy their tickets online, as opposed to doing so at the gate, they would save $24.8 in total. 

For a unique experience you could stay there overnight. There are two main types of accommodations, a tent or a hotel. Someone might choose the first for a more up close experience with the animals, or the latter for a more comfortable one.

The Taronga Zoo offers a couple different experiences, among them the Wild Australia Experience. It includes a guided tour in small groups in order to get to know the animals in the zoo in a personal and intimate manner,

All in all, I do think I would recommend this zoo to friends and family. However, I would definitely warn them about the prices, which, although mostly worth it, are pretty expensive. This zoo is definetly a must visit for any animal lover.
